Master the Secrets of Anesthesiology
The 73rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Anesthesiology will be held in Yokohama, Japan, from May 21 (Thu) to May 23 (Sat), 2026. Michiaki Yamakage, Professor and Chair of the Department of Anesthesiology at Sapporo Medical University School of Medicine, will serve as the Congress Chair. A diverse program has been organized, drawing from the rich experience and knowledge of the members of the Revamped Academic Planning Committee. These members are highly respected in the fields of education, research, and clinical practice in anesthesiology and are passionate about shaping the future of anesthesiology at this year's scientific meeting.
Under the theme "Master the Secrets of Anesthesiology," lectures, symposia, and workshops on cutting-edge research results and clinical applications are scheduled for this year's meeting, aiming to open new horizons in the field of anesthesiology. This will provide an invaluable opportunity for renowned experts from Japan and abroad to gather and share their knowledge and experiences to contribute to the ongoing advancement of anesthesiology.
The Scientific Meeting will take place at Pacifico Yokohama and Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu, both situated in the heart of Yokohama City. Pacifico Yokohama is one of Japan's premier convention centers for international conferences and exhibitions, renowned for its excellent facilities and superb location. Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is a luxury hotel adjacent to Pacifico Yokohama that offers a comfortable and convenient stay for attendees. We are excited to have the opportunity to discuss and deepen our understanding of the latest developments in anesthesiology in this remarkable setting, especially as this is the first time we have held a meeting in Yokohama in many years.
The meeting sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from basic research to clinical applications, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange the latest techniques and knowledge. Anaesthesiology has made significant strides in recent years with the integration of digital technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and innovative approaches to improve patient safety. We look forward to exploring these emerging trends with participants and engaging in deeper discussions on future developments.
Several sessions and workshops will be available for young researchers and physicians. These programs aim to foster the next generation of anesthesiologists and provide them with opportunities for leadership. We encourage young researchers to actively participate and gain new knowledge by networking with their more experienced colleagues.
Yokohama is a stunning port city known for its sightseeing opportunities and gourmet cuisine. Between scientific meetings, you can rejuvenate while enjoying the historical cityscape and beautiful night view. There are many sightseeing spots and shopping areas around the venue, where you can spend relaxing moments after the conference.
We sincerely hope that the 73rd Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Anesthesiologists will provide a meaningful learning experience and an opportunity for new inspiration. We look forward to welcoming you.
